Grette Associates is well versed in issues and applications of wetland science
in Washington State. We develop restoration, enhancement, and habitat
construction designs that ensure success while minimizing future maintenance
costs. Our staff provides wetlands delineation, inventory, restoration,
mitigation, and function assessment services on a scale ranging from small,
isolated wetlands to wetland complexes covering hundreds of acres. We also
help municipalities plan, prepare and implement ordinances to protect wetlands
and sensitive areas.
Grette Associates employ Federal, State and local function assessment procedures
to determine the performance of biological and physical functions of wetland
systems. We also work with Tribal Sovereign Nations outside of State
jurisdiction to develop wetland assessment methods and guidelines to meet their
environmental planning needs.

Monitoring
Grette Associates maintains current knowledge of Federal, State, and Local
environmental regulations, policies, and guidelines. These include
NEPA/SEPA, the Endangered Species Act, the Clean Water Act (sections 401 and
404), CERCLA/Superfund, Hydraulic Codes, the Shoreline Management Act and local
Shoreline Master Programs, Department of Natural Resources Tideland lease
requirements, Section 404(b)(1) alternative analysis guidance, Federal wetland
laws and policies, and local critical area ordinances. Our ability to work
through complicated environmental issues with the agencies results in positive
review of environmental permit applications. We use site-specific data to
provide a sound basis for permit application and the negotiation process while
avoiding generic solutions that are often more expensive.
