Fish & Wildlife Studies

Projects in the aquatic environment often require focused fishery resource studies for efficient planning and informed decision making.  At Grette Associates, we focus on fish habitat issues and on guiding our clients projects through the complex fisheries regulatory environment.  We also provide comprehensive plant and wildlife surveys for habitat planning, management and mitigation services.  Grette Associates provides fish and wildlife data and technical support to private and public clients for project planning and permitting strategy.

Featured Projects

Lower Duwamish Sandpiper Habitat Surveys: Grette Associates provided the lead biologist for spotted sandpiper surveys on the lower Duwamish River, as part of the Phase 2 Remedial Investigation of the Lower Duwamish Waterway.

Oak Woodlands Habitat Assessment, Lakewood, WA:  Grette Associates biologists conducted a wildlife habitat assessment focusing on Western gray squirrel use of garry oak stands in Lakewood Washington.   The site was surveyed for habitat suitability and gray squirrel presence to evaluate the effects of site development.

Blair Waterway Salmon Monitoring, Port of Tacoma:  Grette Associates conducted three years of juvenile salmon sampling effort to fill data gaps on juvenile salmon utilization in portions of Commencement Bay during the period form February 15 to March 15. The sampling resulted from an agreement between the Port of Tacoma and WDFW as basis for expanding the allowable in-water work period.
