Scott Maharry

Associate Scientist

Scott is an Associate in the Tacoma office with expertise in eelgrass and marine biology, wetland and riparian systems, and fisheries and wildlife ecology. Scott manages large complex projects in both marine and freshwater environments, often including ESA compliance, wetland function analysis, eelgrass impact assessments and mitigation plans. Scott is USACE-certified in the delineation and analysis of eelgrass in Puget Sound, and frequently assists clients in agency negotiations regarding eelgrass impacts and restoration. He is also certified in the delineation of wetlands, including wetland rating and mitigation under guidance provided by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Department of Ecology. He is a Pierce County Qualified Wetland, Fish, and Wildlife Specialist. As the manager of the Grette Associates dive team, he leads underwater surveys for eelgrass, shellfish, macroalgae and forage fish spawning activities. Scott is HAZWOPER trained and has experience working on contaminated sites throughout Puget Sound.
